I was at the Harvest Crusade in Anaheim, California on August 6, 2010. The crusade was amazing. I went with some friends from my church (Temple Baptist Church, Perris, CA) and their children. We arrived at the Angel's Baseball stadium at 5:30 p.m. We got in line to enter the stadium. My friend Sheila told me not to bring a purse because if I did it would be searched. There was a shorter line for those that did not have any bags with them. There were thousands of people there to hear from God. It was just amazing to see thousands of people sing to the Lord and pouring their hearts out to Jesus. I just now checked Harvest.org and saw that 30,000 people attended the Harvest Crusade and the best news is that 2,638 people gave their lives to Jesus. Praise the Lord!
I was so blessed to see some musicians up close. Three bands were at Harvest Crusade. The Katinas where there and here is some information about them from Harvest.org
KATINAS
These five brothers, Sam, James, John, Jesse, and Joe, are from the Samoan Islands and have been touring and recording together for the past 15 years. They have released several ablums and most recently recorded their first album off of their own record label, Destiny Productions, entitled Still. Following the devastation of the 2009 Samoa earthquake, the Katinas put on a benefit concert called, "Hope for Samoa."
CRYSTAL LEWIS
Crystal Lewis is one of my favorite musicians. She came to one of the youth summer camps that I was at in the summer of 1999 with Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. I love hearing Crystal Lewis sing because she sings from the heart. Crystal Lewis sang "Lord, I believe in You" and "Come Just as You Are."
DAVID CROWDER BAND
When I saw the David Crowder Band at the Harvest Crusade my first thought was that they are a bunch of Hillbillies that love the Lord. Hailing from Waco, Texas worship group, The David Crowder Band has been taking the Christian music world by storm since the release of their album A Collision in 2005. They are winners of multiple Dove Awards, including 2010 Praise and Worship Album of the Year, for their newest release, Church Music.
I encourage everyone out there to listen to the Harvest Crusade live on Harvest.org and invite an unsaved friend to watch with them. God Bless you all.
